Best Valentine Cake Flavors to Sell in Your Home Bakery Business
If I were selling cakes for valentines day, these are the flavors I would consider baking in my home bakery business.
Chocolate Cherry Cake
Chocolate cherries was one of my grandpa’s most favorite valentine treats growing up. I used to love seeing the joy on his face as he sat in his gas station and popped the chocolate cherries one by one. He was so giddy!
While this flavor combo brings so much nostalgia for me and would make a great story for my marketing, it’s also a great flavor to make in cake form. And who knows, this may bring back fond memories for someone else too!
This is how I would make the chocolate cherry cake:
Use my Chocolate Dream Cake Recipe as the base for the cake with added fresh pitted cherries or freeze dried cherries to the batter.
Add a layer of cherry filling or cherry jam.
Ice with my Chocolate Dream Cream Buttercream.
Top with sliced chocolate cherries or regular cherries.
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake
Keeping in step with classic valentines day treats, chocolate covered strawberries is another dessert popular during the season.
So I think it would make an awesome cake flavor combination. Here’s how I would do it:
Use my Strawberry Dream Cake Recipe with a strawberry filling. 🍓🍰😋
Paired with my Chocolate Dream Cream Buttercream. 🍫
I would top this cake with glazed strawberries and chocolate shavings or chocolate covered strawberries. 🍫🍓
Champagne Cake
You know what pairs well with strawberries? Champagne! 🥂
Thats why my next cake flavor that is perfect for valentine’s day is champagne cake. This is a light flavored cake but you can really add a punch with a real champagne soak and using a champagne emulsion.
Here’s how I would make this cake:
Start with my Vanilla Dream Cake Recipe as a base and sub out the vanilla for a champagne emulsion.
Use champagne as a soak on the cake and in a strawberry filling.
I would ice the cake with my Vanilla Dream Cream Buttercream Recipe.
Top with edible gold leaf, edible glitter, and champagne soaked strawberries.
Cheers!
Lychee Rose Cake
Now I have never had this cake flavor combo and it was very hard to find anything of the sort on the internet. So this flavor combo is very much just a concept. But I would LOOOVE to see someone bring to life my idea for a lychee rose cake! Yum!
These are such soft and beautiful flavors making them the perfect flavor pairing for valentines day! Here’s what I would do to make this cake a reality.
Start with a white cake (cake using only egg whites) and infuse with lychee.
Maybe a lychee filling.
Ice with a rose flavored buttercream using my Vanilla Dream Cream Buttercream + rose extract.
Top with edible rose petals, edible gold leaf, and edible glitter.
Red Velvet Cookie Butter
This next flavor is another combination that didn’t exist, but I actually did take this idea from my head to reality. It’s my red velvet cookie butter cake!
A combination of two popular cake flavors red velvet and cookie butter, this cake flavor is bound to captivate your taste buds with one bite. You can ask anyone who has tried it!
This is a decadent cake flavor that would make people fall in love on Valentine’s day! Here’s how I made it:
Used my Red Velvet Dream Cake Recipe as the base.
Paired with my Cookie Buttercream Dream Cream Buttercream recipe.
Topped with Biscoff Cookies.
Chocolate Turtle Cake
Chocolate turtles is another popular treat for valentine’s day and that is why it would make one of the best cake flavors to offer in your home bakery business.
Here’s how I would make it:
Start with my Chocolate Dream Cake Recipe.
Add layers of peanut butter and gooey caramel.
Ice in my Chocolate Dream Cream Buttercream.
Top with a caramel drip and chopped roasted peanuts.
